Set in the seemingly
polar opposite worlds of an East End art studio and an
Anglican retreat, Squint explores human dependence on
forces and substances outside of themselves. Four characters,
each very different, but intertwined, each searching for
meaning and purpose in modern life, find their answers
in a range of addictions, both physical and philosophical.
Hugh looks for answers in fine art, booze, and perhaps
religion; Courtney in the trill of cocaine and the moment;
Jack in the 12 Steps of the AA Programme and Ruth in the
Anglican doctrine. |
